Welcome to the Elementary Battle of the Books at Wintergreen School!
Battle of the Books is a 4th and 5th grade reading competition. Schools in Pitt County participate in a “quiz bowl” style tournament that tests their knowledge of a list of books established by the North Carolina Library Media Association’s Battle of the Books committee. Each participating school can have no more than 12 student participants. Interested students are encouraged to read the BOBs, take notes while reading, study the titles and authors, and take AR quizzes on the books. Because this is a county-wide competition, teachers should count these books towards AR, regardless of level.
